Maryland Product Liability Law
Gaithersburg Trial Attorneys for Victims of Defective Products
Hundreds of thousands of people are injured or killed by products in the United States each year. And while not all of these accidents or injuries are caused by defective products, many of them are. Product liability law governs these cases and allows victims to recover compensation for medical expenses, lost wages and other damages they've suffered as a result. However, product designers and manufacturers, as well as their insurers, have a lot to lose and more often than not, will fight these claims.
Don't stand alone. The attorneys at Sussman & Simcox can help. Call us in Gaithersburg, Maryland, at 301.840.0404 or contact us online to arrange a free consultation.
Our Practice
Our firm handles product liability claims on behalf of injured people and their families in the Baltimore-D.C. corridor and throughout the surrounding areas of Maryland. Our practice includes consumer goods of all types, workplace equipment and industrial products as well.
Types of Product Liability Claims
Product liability claims can be filed on the basis of manufacturing defects, design defects or information defects (also known as failure to warn cases). Generally, manufacturing defects are the easiest type of claim for a plaintiff to prevail on but are also the type of case most rarely seen. By contrast, design and failure to warn cases are more common but much more difficult to prove.
Our attorneys, Karen Sussman and Howard Simcox, work with professional investigators, product designers, engineers, information experts and others to establish fault and to obtain a fair and reasonable out-of-court settlement without having to risk the uncertainties of trial. However, both Ms. Sussman and Mr. Simcox are experienced litigators with a 25-year long history of courtroom results. In that regard, you can rest assured that neither will be afraid to litigate the case if required.
